RMHC Ireland's Cycle the Lakes 2023
Cycle the Lakes 2023
Saturday June 10th 2023
On Saturday June 10th 2023 our annual Cycles the lakes for the Ronald McDonald House is returning to the beautiful surrounds of the Blessington lakes in Co. Wicklow.
Cycle the Lakes is an annual favourite at Ronald McDonald House Charities and we are delighted to offer this challenge again. We are humbled at the support this event amasses and its growing numbers. We are delighted to have Philip Lee and RBC Brewin Dolphin sponsoring the event for the 2nd year.
Serenely set in the foothills of the Wicklow Mountains, in Blessington, County Wicklow, the Blessington Lakes cover 5,000 acres of tranquil clean water and provide an area of breathtaking scenery.
The Blessington Lakes in Blessington, County Wicklow were formed 50 years ago by the building of the Poulaphouca Dam and hydro-electric power station and today serve a dual purpose of providing power and water supply to the Dublin region.
This is our great base for RMHC’s annual cycle. The route gives our participants the opportunity to take in amazing views over the reservoir and the Wicklow Mountain and through historic villages such as Ballyknockan and Lacken.
Choose from a leisurely 25km route or, keen cyclists can choose a more rigourous 100km. If you are keen but not quite able, find balance and cycle two loops around the scenic Blessington Lakes and complete 50k for our House.
This is a fun day out in a beautiful setting and we will have refreshements for all our cyclists on the day. Registration includes a cycling shirt which is distributed on the day.
