Our Relationship with McDonald’s

RMHC Founding Mission Partner since 1974

McDonald’s support extends from monetary contributions and volunteerism, to cause-related marketing promotions and the space to place RMHC Donation Boxes that raise money for Chapters around the world.  McDonald’s has helped RMHC positively impact millions of children and their families and continues to provide valuable resources and support to help us expand our core programs and services.

McDonald’s have been the charity’s mission partner on a worldwide basis since 1974. RMHC Ireland is a non-profit registered charity (CHY12553). RMHC relies on the support of the entire community and greatly values donations from the community, our families, McDonald’s and other corporate partners.

McDonald’s (Ireland) support of RMHC Ireland takes many forms.

Amir Afsar (Past Chair McDonald’s Operator Group), Marian Carroll (CEO, Volunteer), Bernard Byrne (Operator & Board Trustee), Joe Kenny (RMHC, HOO)

A portion of the annual administration costs for the Ronald McDonald House Charities Ireland is graciously funded by McDonald’s and owner/operators of local McDonald’s restaurants. The remainder of our annual operating income comes from the generosity of individual and corporate donors.

Collectively McDonald’s use their restaurants to create customer awareness and support for the charity. Staff and Owner/Operators participate on our Board and volunteer their time. Donation boxes in the restaurant’s form the largest source of ongoing fundraising. McDonald’s Customers generously donate via these Donation Boxes.

McDonald’s conducts a worldwide fundraiser annually – McHappy Day. In Ireland, all McDonald’s Stores sponsor the Buy-a-Brick Campaign. They also facilitate two In-Store Campaigns (May & November) whereby McDonald’s Customers buy an item (Helping Hands / Santa Hats) with all proceeds from these sales going directly to RMHC Ireland.

McDonald’s in Ireland kindly support our RMHC fundraising events – Cycle4Families (April), RMHC Golf Classic (June), Walk4Families (October),  Gala Ball (November)

Staff from many McDonald’s Restaurants support our #Cooking4Families Programme by cooking in the House on a regular basis.

Many thanks, McDonald’s Ireland for supporting our mission every day #KeepingFamiliesClose
