Planning permission has been granted for a New Children’s Hospital and a new 53 Bedroom Ronald McDonald House on the site of St. James’s Hospital, Dublin.
Over the next few years, we will need to raise in excess of €17 million in order to build and provide this 53 Bedroom Ronald McDonald House. We will need to rely on all our many friends and supporters to help us raise this money. This is an ambitious project but we know that with your help and support we can make it happen.
New Children’s Hospital will be a world class facility to look after children and young people from all over Ireland who have complicated and serious illnesses and who are in need of specialist and complex care. The hospital and the two satellite centres in Dublin will provide all the ‘local hospital’ paediatric secondary care to children in the local population. The project will bring together three existing children’s hospitals: Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital Crumlin, Temple Street Children’s University Hospital and the National Children’s Hospital at Tallaght Hospital. These hospitals will merge to form the Children’s Hospital Group before the transition to the new facilities.
The Ronald McDonald House Charity Ireland is looking forward to working with the New Hospital Group Board, The New Hospital Development Board and the HSE over the next few years. This is an incredible project and we are very proud to be involved. With our new 53 bedroom House we will be able to keep even more families close together and close to the medical facility their sick children will need in the coming years.
